Drink More Water: Did you know by the time your body feels thirsty, you’re actually dehydrated? Each day, you constantly lose water through breathing, perspiration and intestinal movements. Drinking an adequate amount of water each day boosts energy levels and mood, in addition to leaving you feeling healthy and consistently hydrated. The Institute of Medicine recommends ingesting 9-13 cups of water each day to maintain a healthy balance.

Sleep is Key: Getting enough sleep each night is key to your overall health and wellness. Your sleeping habits affect every aspect of your life – mind, body and soul. We spend about 1/3 of our lives sleeping – get the most of that 1/3 and don’t waste it. Make sleep a priority. Adults should get at least eight hours of sleep each night.


Take a Moment to De-Stress: When you feel you’re on the brink of a total breakdown, take a step back for a moment. Close your eyes and take deep breaths, breathing in and out to the count of four. Taking a moment out of your day to focus on your own health and wellness is crucial for maintaining healthy stress levels. Clearing your mind will help with concentration, stamina and productivity, leading to an overall healthier lifestyle.

Get Out and Get Going: Just a 30-minute walk through the woods is enough to give your health the boost it needs. Nothing beats a little exercise if you’re looking for an immediate boost mentally, emotionally and physically.
Keep a Food Journal: It may seem silly, but keeping a food journal will help you better track and maintain a healthy diet. Keeping a daily food log forces you to pay attention to what you’re consuming, since you’ll need to remember to write it down later. When you begin to focus on what and how much you’re eating through journaling, you will consciously begin to alter your eating habits.
